- 8 mint leaves
- 2 tsp granulated sugar (or 1/2 oz simple syrup)
- 2 oz bourbon whiskey
- 1 mint sprig (garnish)
Instructions
- Add the mint leaves and sugar to a mint julep cup and lightly muddle.
- Pour in the bourbon.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir until the cup is cold.
- Garnish with a mint sprig.
Notes
The taste of the bourbon will not be masked, so use a bourbon that you can sip neat.
Use an 80-proof bourbon, or water down the bourbon if the ABV is higher than 40%.
1 sugar cube = 1 tsp
